As a Bachelor of Laws student at King’s College London (KCL), I study at the Dickson Poon School of Law – one of the world’s most renowned institutions, particularly for it’s excellence in commercial and competition law. My ongoing legal education has played a role in sharpening my analytical precision, developing my commercial awareness, and deepening my interest in the legal systems that underpin global economic and political order. My passion lies in commercial law, which I view as the engine of modern economic systems. I have developed this expertise through contract law, and the law of the sale of goods. I’m also very interested in international commercial arbitration and alternative dispute resolution between parties, including companies and states. I firmly believe responsible, practical, and efficient legal mechanisms build trust, compliance, and long-term value in global business. At KCL, I have embraced a dynamic, multifaceted university experience that balances academic excellence with co-curricular and extracurricular engagement. As a Mooter, I’ve begun developing advocacy skills through internal competitions. I’ve also thrived in Model United Nations, engaging with global policy and diplomacy, single-handedly writing an entire resolution in the Security Council. In my penultimate year, I mentored undergraduates through the Law Families Mentoring programme, earning the King’s Mentoring Award. Outside of academics, I’m a member of the KCL Fencing Men’s 2nd Team, and creatively, I was cast as a leading actor in a supporting role in the annual autumn production of KCL Shakespeare Company. Beyond university, I’ve involved myself with various legal internships. My internships include a week at Allen & Gledhill LLP (Singapore) in competition law, two weeks at White & Case LLP (London) in international commercial arbitration, one month at Han Kun LLP (Singapore) focusing on private equity, and a week at Cleary Gottlieb (London) in debt restructuring. These experiences have refined my commercial awareness and applied my studies to real-world legal practice. Finally, being educated under the International Baccalaureate programme at the United World College of South East Asia in Singapore enables me to bring a globally informed perspective, academic discipline, and a strategic awareness of how different cultural and market contexts shape decision-making. That foundation continues to influence how I approach legal study, commercial issues, and international affairs, with analytical precision and a cross-cultural lens.
